Au travers des tranches de vies émouvantes des habitués d'un salon de coiffure de Zaytshik, au coeur de Tel-Aviv, tous des survivants de la Shoah, l'auteure dépeint un quartier peuplé de gens de "là-bas" dont la vie s'est brutalement arrêtée, pour se poursuivre, en Israël, à jamais hantée par l'enfer et leur familles perdues.
